Judy Almekinder, Nurse Practitioner, was born in Rochester, NY and has lived in the area for her whole life. She received an AAS Degree in Nursing from Monroe Community College in 1974, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nazareth College in 1983, and a Master of Science Degree in Women’s Health Care from the University of Rochester in 1998. She is certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the NCC. Prior to joining the Canandaigua Medical Group in early 2009, Judy worked as an NP at the Highland Hospital Community Ob/Gyn Program, the Rochester Gynecology & Obstetric Associates, and most recently at the Planned Parenthood of Rochester/Syracuse Regional Office in Greece.
Judy and her husband, Leonard, live in Greece. The Almekinders have three children: Sarah, Allison and Jeffrey. In her spare time, Judy enjoys watching her son play hockey, camping with her family, reading and playing with her two Siberian Huskies: Pippen & Toby.
Dr. Jillian Babu joined the Canandaigua Medical Group on 07/23/12 as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist in our Ob/Gyn Department.
Dr. Babu was born in Wellsville, NY and was raised in Allegany County. She moved to Buffalo to attend Daemen College and stayed for Medical School at SUNY Buffalo. Her residency was completed at the University of Rochester. Dr. Babu is Board Certified. Her husband grew up just outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is now a physical therapist at Thompson Hospital.
Dr. Babu and her husband currently live here in the Canandaigua community. Their family is brightened by their daughter Eva. Dr. Babu enjoys cooking and traveling with her family.
Laura was born and raised in Canandaigua. Laura received her Nursing Degree at FLCC and her Bachelor’s Degree at Nazareth College. In June of 2001 Laura received her MSN in Midwifery and Women’s Health from the University of Rochester. Laura’s clinical training was done at Strong Memorial Hospital, Highland Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital in Watertown. Prior to Midwifery Laura worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Thompson Hospital for 11+ years. Laura is also an active member of the American College of Nurse Midwives.
Laura currently lives in Canandaigua and enjoys cooking, walking and spending time with her three children Emily, Molly and Joe.
Dr. Cantwell was born in Morristown, New Jersey and lived there until her early teen years when she moved to Ithaca, New York. A Psychology and Biology Major, she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Dr. Cantwell attended the University of Vermont College of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine and Jones Institute in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Cantwell is Board Certified and is currently a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the Canandaigua Medical Society. She began her private practice in 1993 at the Canandaigua Medical Group.
Dr.Cantwell and her husband, Dr. Kevin McCormick, a Geriatrician, live in Canandaigua. Rowing, running, needlepoint, and basketball are a few of her favorite pastimes.
Terri Dailey, Nurse Practitioner, was born in Hornell, NY and was raised in the Southern Tier and Rochester. She received an AAS Degree in Nursing from FLCC in 1986, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nazareth College in 1997, and a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Buffalo in 2000. She is certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the NCC. Prior to joining the Ob/Gyn team at the Canandaigua Medical Group during the summer of 2008, Terri’s nurse practitioner experience included positions at the Planned Parenthood/Rape Crisis Center in Rochester, Wayne County Public Health in Lyons, Planned Parenthood of Rochester/Syracuse in Canandaigua and most recently at Park West Women’s Health in Rochester.
Terri lives in nearby Macedon. She has two stepdaughters with 4 grandchildren along with one daughter and a grandson. In her free time, Terri enjoys knitting, drawing/painting, playing fiddle and spending time with her family.
Jennifer was born and raised in Canandaigua. She received her nursing degree from FLCC and her Bachelors Degree from Keuka College. While at Keuka, Jennifer was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. In June of 2012, Jennifer received her MSN in Nurse Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University (“The Birthplace of Midwifery in America”) and graduated with honors. Her clinical training was at Highland Hospital with the Strong Midwifery Group. Prior to becoming a midwife, Jennifer worked as a labor and delivery nurse for 8 years in the birthing center at FF Thompson Hospital. Jennifer joined the Canandaigua Medical Group in January 2013 practicing full scope midwifery including well women gynecological care. She is an active member of the American College of Nurse Midwives and NYSALM (NYS Association of Licensed Midwives).
Ms. Orcutt lives in Canandaigua with her children Sam and Anna. In her free time she enjoys volunteering in the kids classrooms and is busy with their sports: travel baseball, basketball and swimming. Other hobbies include reading, running, and downhill skiing.
Jessica was born and raised in Rochester, New York. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher College, and gained experience working at Strong Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse in Acute Medicine before specializing in Women’s Health.
At Unity Hospital in Rochester, Jessica worked as a labor and delivery nurse at the Family Birth Place. While at Unity, Jessica decided to pursue her Masters in Nursing with a specialty in Midwifery. Her clinical training was at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia; and in September of 2012, Jessica graduated from Frontier Nursing University (“The Birthplace of Midwifery in America”).
Jessica joined the Canandaigua Medical Group in August 2013 and is practicing full scope midwifery and well woman gynecologic care. Jessica is an active member of the American College of Nurse Midwives as well as the New York State Association of Licensed Midwives.
Jessica lives in Canandaigua with her husband, Aaron (Program Manager for Catholic Family Center), and two children, Madison and Noah. They are active members at St. Mary’s Church, where her daughter will be starting school this fall. Jessica spends her spare time playing piano, reading, and spending time with family.
Born in Rochester, New York and raised in Fairport, New York, Dr. Scott is a graduate of the State University of New York at Brockport. He earned his Doctor of Medicine and completed his internship and residency from the University of Buffalo. Dr. Scott is Board Certified and is currently a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. He began his practice in 1994 at the Canandaigua Medical Group.
Dr. Scott lives in Canandaigua and has three children, Margaret, Elizabeth, and Adam.
